David has served in a number of transformative non-profit executive leadership positions throughout his career including the Rothko Chapel, Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, Interfaith Ministries for Great Houston, and Habitat forHumanity. Central to his vocation is the development of community engaged intersectional relationships that have resulted in numerous programs and initiatives addressing critical social justice and community issues including interfaith relations, art and social change, rights of refugees and immigrants, environmental justice and sustainability, affordable housing, and workers’ rights. His theory of change centers on the conviction that “we are stronger when we work together than apart.” He understands the importance of strategic planning complete with sustainable implementation plans that help ensure that the organization and the people and communities that support it are valued and make the greatest impact possible. Traveling, songwriting, documentary film content editing, hiking, reading, and spending time with his family are all important parts of his keeping a healthy and creative life-work balance.
